Megan Mulrooney is pleased to present Brazilian artist João Trevisan’s debut exhibition with the gallery and his first solo exhibition in the United States. Trevisan's work considers with both memory and perception through two distinct bodies of work; his monochrome and his landscape.
"My paintings come from a place of calm. Even while the landscape series are figments of my imagination, there is this idea that we climb a mountain to see what lies beyond it, and when we reach the top, we see a large lake embraced by great mountains. And you don’t know exactly whether it is a sunset or a sunrise. It is subjective, open to interpretation, and the optimism is dependent on the viewer." – João Trevisan
