Thanos Valentine ( @celibatechase ) presents an evening of BDSM and performance art. He takes interest in art a la the work of Sheree Rose and Bob Flanagan using this as an outlet for his battle with bipolar 2 and complex PTSD, practicing with his performance partner Em. The undercurrent throughout Valentine’s work and the evening of performance art and BDSM is emotions spurring from his and time spent with other people.

Love—platonic, romantic, and sexual, is the ethos of this evening of performances. Bringing together friends, collegues and his life to encapsulate the many lovers and eras eroticism encapsulates. Through Valentine’s lived experiences as a trans masculine lesbian and a sex worker, the evening pulls on themes of power dynamics and labor and how both shape our daily lives.

Through extensive erotic archives and performance, Valentine and collaborators utilize erotic practices to comment on love, labor, excess, and emotion.
